Auto Lamp question
This probably is a really dumb question; but before I bought my S-Crew I have never had a vehicle with "Auto Lamp". What in the world does this headlight function do and how does it work.

The autolamp system provides light sensitive automatic on-off control of the exterior (i.e. Head) lights normally controlled by the headlamp control.
The autolamp system also keeps the lights on for approximately 20 seconds after the ignition switch is turned to off.
You wouldn't believe how many people say "Hey you left your lights on."
Also pulling into the garage during the day with the lights out, they will turn on for a few seconds after you get out of the truck.

The Autolamp works quite well, except for rainy conditions during the day. Most of the time the sensor thinks it's not dark enough to activate the lights. Then you'll need to turn the lights on manually.

I learned something interesting about how my alarm works as result of the auto light function. I was walking away from the truck one night and armed my alarm while the lights were still on. When the lights went off, the alarm activated. I hadn't realized that the alarm was set to "voltage sensing" mode. Which detects any change in current. Just an fyi....

The autolamp sensor is adjustable. My lights didn't come on when I thought they should and the dealer adjusted it. I only have to manually turn them on during day/rain. The law in VA, lights on when using wipers.
