Outside Temp. Guage
Has anyone noticed how your temp guage reads when it gets below zero C. ? This morning mine went from well above zero, in the garage, to minus 3 C outside temp. When it hit zero, it flashed back and forth from the temp to "ICE". When it went below minus 1 it stopped flashing and held the minus temp. It looks like it does this at zero only. Most of you may not see this too often. I'm afraid I'll see it for the next 4 or 5 months. Pretty scary eh?

Thad,
Around here, if the gauge is reading below 0, it's very cold, we're fahrenheit. But I have noticed a few times already in the morning the gauge changing back and forth from the temp. to "ice". And the temp. was only near 33-34 degrees. I have also noticed that my gauge reads the same temp. in the afternoon as it did in the morning for at least the first 15 min., then it slowly adjusts itself. It's way too early in the year for this already, especially here in Northeast Ohio. They're forecasting lake effect snow tonight and I'm still trying to figure out what happened to summer?
P.S. Stay warm this winter, eh?

My wifes Explorer does that. At first I thought it was lame but after what could have been a serious accident a few winters ago - a little reminder can't hurt!

Draving home from work last week in freezing drizzle and outside air temp 35F the temp gauge alternated from ICE to the current temp. Think it is a great feature. At least I makes you think!

Mine flashes back and forth from the temp. to "ice" wen it gets below freezing. When I get sick of looking at it I just shut it off.

CDaRip2U, You may be right as with mine I came out of a warm garage and the temp dropped 20 deg. C fairly quickly. Do you have a choice on your panel to switch from Fahrenheit to Celcius to off, or just Fahrenheit to off?

Ready to see my temp guage flash "ICE" to me, preferably when I have just put my SCrew in 4WD to bust through some of the snow that has fallen. Some maybe inside watching the snow, I'll be out in it enjoying my SCrew.

I don't think I'll be seeing that "ICE" message anytime soon. Last Wednesday it was 90F. This morning it was 38F, but that was a record low. Maybe they need a "MUD" message for down here. Everytime it rains this time of year, until the end of harvest about December, we get mud all over the highway from the sugar cane trucks coming out of the fields.
I love to kid my cousin in Minn. about the temp. I can deal with the heat and humidity, but I'm a wimp when it comes to freezing weather.

Snow, sounds good, but I was not able to find snowchains. Does somebody have an address where I could order snowchains (17 inch all season tires).
Please let me know, since Germany has a law that you have to have these things during the winter months.

"ICE" will flash for one minute if the temperature falls to 39*F or lower. After the one minute it should stop.
