Neanderthal inconsiderate morons
This really has me totally "yanked"!!! Some "rock head, low-life, swine feces, bottom feeding, pea-brained, inbred pile of garbage" couldn't keep away from my truck and leave me alone!! Forget the fact that I park in the back 40 at every store. Someone parked next to my Screw and put a chip and scuff marks in the front fender. Now my Screw doesn't have fancy paint, or accesories or custom wheels or any other "mods" to it. Other than the fact it's a supercrew (which does attract attention!), it's just a very nice, well equipt truck that I would liked to have been able to keep ding free for quite some time, but NOOOOOO, some ignorant piece of monkey dung couldn't let that happen. Why is it some people could care less about anyone else's stuff?? We all work hard for our money, and these trucks aren't exactly what I would call cheap! They're a very good value, but not cheap. It's just very irritating! Sorry, I just had to let off some steam with other Screw members who understand how I feel!!

taking home small pieces of their usually junkyard bound piece of crap tends to make some feel better. i prefer mirrors myself.
or for a real affect small diam rod (coat hanger sized) through radiator. small diam just a pin hole not too easily noticed and easy to do without being seen.

You can park 200 ft away from any potential door ding or damage. However, the sad thing is there are many sick souls in this world who cannot stand the thought of someone owning something nice and go out of their way to damage it. I can almost assure you that damage was intentional.

I feel your pain- just dont take it out on your local ford body shop man when he tells you how much it's gonna take to fix.
Two months outta the dealership: Some young punk decided to throw a shoulder into my passenger door while it was parked at the curb. At first I didnt know when and where and how- considering it is a Screw 4x4 and the door handle is about head level on a punk kid. Only until I parked it at the same curb did i realize the door handle area was just about shoulder/elbow level.
The damage consisted of denting in the door handle in about a 12 inch radius. The door handle was fine and still worked. This dent also caused the panel to crease just above the plastic molding in a moon shape about 9 inches long, and also buckled the panel just below the mirror in what looked like a "pinch".
Pearson Ford in San Diego did an awesome job of fixing it up right. I'd have pictures to show you, but I cant afford to get em out of hock at the price club :-)
Anyways, 800 dollars- 500 from my own pocket, and a week @ the shop. They had to sand into the rear passenger door and into the front fender to match the paint.

Sorry to here about all of your Crews' damage.
I don't have mine yet, but I'm already warning a sinister, yet often unoticed group of "damagers", YOUR FRIENDS! I'm already telling all of my friends that
there will be no eating in my Crew, nor borrowing to move their furniture and no throwing of things about.
My "friends" borrowed my 91' Dakota extended cab to move furniture. When I got it back, the top rails were all scratched down both sides, not to mention food on the floor and seats! Potatoe chips on cloth? Everytime someone eats in it, they spill something...
Oh, what about throwing a cement block against the wheel well (and denting it), hitting the fender with the jet-ski anchor, or how about your friend having you park out on the street when they forgot that hoodlums come by with high-powered sling-shots and put a $950 dent in the side of my truck with an egg! They all say, well its just a
truck, that's what trucks are for (to beat the crap out of?) yeah, maybe Uncle Jeb's rust-bucket farm truck, but not my once pristine, spotless, expensive only means of transportation. If its just a truck, let them get their own #$%* $32,000 plus truck to trash! My 3 cents

OOOOh, OOOOOh!!! I got a story too. I never got to vent when it 1st happened so now I will. Parked my 2 week old 97 Expedition at the local Best Buy store pretty far away from all the other cars. Was in the store for about a half hour. Came out to find a nice "KEYING" job along the upper drivers side from the front edge of the front fender to the rear of the back door. Some scumbag obviously thought I would enjoy seeing it everytime I get in my truck. 3 years later, it's still there and I still don't enjoy seeing it.
Pre PS:
I'll make sure the truck's dirty when I pick up my S-Crew later this month. It isn't as noticable when dirty. :> )
As a preventive measure, get yourself some kind of Bumper/grill guard for the front. It does wonders for those morons who don't turn their lazy heads around when backing out of a parking space and hit your truck as a result. I've saved numerous front license plates this way. Atleast in the rear end, your hitch receiver protects you pretty well.

Gee if you have problems with the parking lots in the States, I can just imagine the kind of notes that I will be getting here in the Netherlands, the parking lots are just a little smaller here!!!

This is an observation from the posts that I have read here in this thread. I have had my SC for about 10 weeks now. So far no damage from malicious hoodlums. Then again, I park in regular parking spaces right in the middle just like I did with my passenger car. Not that the aforementioned fact necessarily is the prevention of the first.
However, for those that park in the 'north 40' at every parking lot you might be seen as pretentious by others and become an instant target by jealous (or Chevy truck owners) thugs. Not to mention that simply parking away from others makes your SC stand out and, IMO, more of a potential target.
I am not trying to convince anyone to park along with the rest of us 'common folk'; rather I wanted to make the observation that those who park alone attract more attention (and potentially more vandalism).
And for the guy who uses four parking spaces (regardless of location). Take what I wrote above and multiply it by four. ;-)
Don't misunderstand me, I am not attempting to create animosity between fellow SC owners here. Most of the people on this board seem to be of a higher caliber than on most boards. I just wanted to point out the observation.
Cheers!

This is what I had on my windshield when I got back to my truck yesterday at the mall.
Needless to say I spent 10 minutes looking over my truck for key marks and dents. Thank God there weren't any. That goes to show you how jelous some people are. It would have taken me all day to kick the doors in on all 30-40 veichles that were surronding me if I would have had a scratch on my truck since I couldnt tell who it was that did it.

Hey Dutchy- Re: The manik brush guard
I got my grill guard and rails (and soon to have the tail light covers)as part of a package through the MANIK factory. They were looking for a supercrew to borrow for a photo shoot for their catalog and web site and I was able to sneek in a grab ahold of the deal.
Email Manik export sales at : info@manik.com or sales@manik.com
The grill I have is black powdercoated. I am not sure if you can paint them. I have seen the stainless and they look great also.
The tail light covers havent been made yet, but as soon as I get them from Manik, i will post some pics. I saw my truck with the one set of prototypes on it right after the photoshoot, and they look very slick. My truck should be on their site as soon as they update it.
There are companies out there that can powdercoat any color you want- but the only one I know of is in california:-(
Good luck.
