Got Mine Sat, My Story...This May Be a Record
Hello All:
Not trying to rub it in to all those "Screw" brotheren who continue to wait for their trucks, but I wanted to share my story with you. I ordered my truck on August 26, I picked up the truck on Sat, Sept 30th. It's an XLT 4x4. There may be several factors for the fast order fill.
* Bought mine with the 4.6
* Didn't get the Lariat ( maybe cloth seats are in better supply?
* My dealer says he's a Ford select dealership, this is a very small dealership ( ie 2 staff mechanics ). I was told they get priority over the big boys.
* I live in the midwest, just down the road from KC ( maybe 300 miles or so ).
The fast arrival caught all by surprise, we suspected it may be a fast fill since I had been VIN'd at two weeks, but the arrival at a little over four weeks was not expected.
I don't know if I got the 4.6 with the 20hp increase. I asked the dealer to try to find out for me.

I am about ready to get mine. Pretty sure I won't order one though, as they are on lots all over the place here in Kansas. I am a Technician in a Ford dealership. The owner has a white over tan Lariat 4x4 for his demo. And we have a 2wd on the lot. I want a black XLT w/ gray, 5.4L, 4x4.

My story must be a record in the other way. I ordered on 4/28/00 and picked up on 9/25/00. I even ordered via employee "A" plan which the dealer said would probably put it at 4-6 weeks. Well, 21 weeks later it finally arrived. But I have to say, it was worth the wait. I love it.
