Post Anybody Wreck Yet?

Hey all,

I wrecked my truck a few weeks ago, and just got the insurance estimate of over $12,000. The question is on the frame, the front is 3 inches to the right, and the left frame rail is 1 inch back. Can this be straightened legally? Does anybody know if this frame has crush zones which should not be straightened? I would really like to trash the truck as it's the other guy's fault, but may get stuck no matter what. I really wish Ford hadn't discontinued gold, or I would make them eat it and order another.

Thanks for your help,
Randy

ps if you see atruck like mine on the lot, please let me know. I'm in North Carolina, and may be in the market.

randymechanic,

Sorry to hear about your truck. I hope the driver that hit you gets life in prison... :-D Maybe the death penalty is warranted here?

I beleive I saw a Screw on the lot in Danbury, CT (Colonial Ford (203) 748-3503 according to the FordVehcles website). Anyway, I believe it was a Black/Harvest Gold 2-tone 4x4 Parchment leathered Lariat. I think it was loaded but I did not get that close. I just noticed the colors, 4x4 emblem and Chrome wheels it as I drove by today. (It was near Cap City where I was looking at LSII A.R.E hard covers)

Maybe a phone call and road trip is in the cards for you? Its an 11 or 12 hour car ride which is not too bad for the right SCrew...

Good luck!

Here's what $6,000 damage looks like:

bodyside mouldings, Snuglid hard tonneau, airbox and fresh air mods.
Duraliner drop-in (gave up on the Penda Nascar). Gibson Supertruck. Ford 2-piece bra. Catch-All floor mats. Image tail light covers. B-Quiet sound dampener in rear of cab. **** pile rug protecting spare tire (Raoul made me enter this)
No door cracks yet at 13K!!!

My LUCK,

Called Danbury Ford dealer, and yes he had my truck. Only problem is, it's in the body shop. Seems the tire delivery person ran in to it 3 days ago. (Guess he was bringing Firestones) Well, I'll keep looking.

Randymechanic,

It looked good the day I drove by... Too bad it was parked right out front where it could be hit... I'll keep my eyes peeled for ya.

Even though I own one now, I still can't help looking at them on the lots.
