Post Transmission shifting hard

I posted this in the transmission forum but also wanted to check with ya'll. I have a Supercrew that is 2 weeks old and every once in a while the tranny shifts with a heavy jerk. I found that by using the cruise it will do it every time. When I cruise at 75 and hit the brake to slow to about 65 when I hit resume it shifts down to 3rd until it gets back up to 75. When it gets there it shifts back into O.D. with a really hard jerk or pop. Before I take it for warranty I wanted to get some insight from ya'll so I'll be better prepared for the "There's nothing wrong with it." diagnosis. Thank's for everyone great input on this board, there have been alot of answered questions simply by reading the posts.

I have had my S-Crew three weeks and 600 miles. 5.4L engine. I have never experienced the problem you describe. In cruise control driving in the mountains on a highway which goes to 11,000 fett I disengaged cruise because of the constant shifting (which was to be expected under those conditions); but the shifting was never hard or real noticeable. If I were you it would be at the dealership being looked at.

At 9K miles now and never has our truck shifted with a hard jerk or pop as you discribe. Not even with the Superchip which firmed up the shifting over the stock programming.

I have had mine 17 days and have 1,000 miles already and I am noticing the hard shift as well.

It doesn't happen often, but when it does, it's really noticeable. I'm not sure why it's happening, but I have an appointment with my dealer this weekend and I will ask them and get back to you guys.

Hey Chief,

I have a question about your air filtration system. I tried your email at mysupercrew.com but it didn't work. Send me your email address if you get a chance.

Thanks,

I have had my Screw for over a month and have noticed no hard shifting. Even while cruising up down steep mountain highways the transmission still shifts very smoothly (I turn OD off). The first Screw I test drove is a different story. The first Screw I had driven was an XLT with the AT and 5.4L. Most of the shifts during the test drive were relatively smooth, but every now and again the tranny would shift with a very hard jolt at around 45-50 mph. This was under normal acceleration and not the typical test drive pedal to the metal. I was skeptical about buying this vehicle because of this, but after test driving 3 more Screws without the hard shifting, I decided that the this was an isolated incedent. I would take it in to get it checked out before it becomes a big problem. Hope this helps.

Is your Check Engine light coming on? The only time that my transmission was shifting hard was when the MAF fried out. By being damaged it start sending the wrong message and you can get neck braking hard shifts with a lot of "bangs" and "clunks" coming from the differential and the shaft.

Looks like your problem may be a different one, but I posted this just in case.

I've had mine for a couple weeks . The only times it shifts hard is when accelerating uphill and easing off the throttle .
