6 cd changer?????
I am considering replacing fac head unit with one that has rca inputs, crossover, and more power, but woulld still like to use the 6cd changer that came with the screw.Does anyone know if this will plug into other after market headunits such as pioneer, alpine?I am also putting front components in and a amp and sub.If anyone has made any changes to audio system please let me know how installs went.Amazoncrew
As far as I understand, Clarion used to make a radio that was compatible with the ford cd changers. It wasn't a big seller so it was discontinued. The only way to change head unit and have a cd changer is to buy either a brand compatible (i.e. sony, pioneer...) or an fm modulated changer. The only other suggestions that I can make is to try Crutchfield (call on the phone (you get more info that way)) or call all the individual radio manu's and ask them.
Why not keep the factory unit and use line-level converters to add the amps and things? It would help keep your stuff hidden, thieves are less likely to hit a "stock" vehicle than one with an upgraded radio. Food for thought!
