I recently leased a 2001 SCrew which isn't "equipped" with the autolock feature and didn't come with remote keyless entry FOBs. Someone suggested that maybe my SCrew is equipped for these features, but that they just weren't activated at the factory. Does anyone know if this is true? If so, how do you activate these features without making a trip to the dealership and paying an arm and a leg?

I looked in the owner's manual and followed the directions for enabling/disabling, but it doesn't work.

 

If your S-Crew was manufactured after mid-July then the Remote Keyless Entry is standard. Prior to that change it was a paid for option. Check with your dealer.

ford has a kit, $180 that doesn't include labor. i would say ensure you order this option, but fortunately (for new buyers)it's standard now.
