Question Austin Dealerships

I'm new to the board and plan on buying a new Screw in the coming month. Does anyone out there have any recommendations on a good dealer in Austin, Tx or vicinity. Thanks.

Hey Buzz,

I'm relatively new to this board also, but I just ordered a new SCrew (7/26/2000) from Leif Johnson in Austin. My sales rep was Vance Messick there and they gave me flat invoice on the truck. I don't have any other experience with this dealership other than this one order but everything has gone fairly smoothly so far. Check my signature for the truck I ordered; FWIW, I paid $26125.50 for the unit. Email me directly at mesman@stata.com for more specifics.

I bought mine in November of last year from Covert. They're a volume dealer and should get you pretty close to invoice. I also bought the premium extended service plan from Ford, and really enjoy the fact that I get a free (not including tax, insurance, etc) rental when I take the truck in for a TSB. There is an Enterprise rental place right there in the service dept. They tend to get the service done pretty quickly, considering that they're losing $28 bucks a day for the rental.

I also ordered from covert but from covert chevrolet...This is my second vehicle from them...Ordered 2001 Chevy Crew Cab SWB LT 4x4 for 200 over minus the 370 adjustment fee (not one other dealer would even talk about the fee) so that puts me at 170 under invoice on a truck that has yet to hit the market...Dealt with covert ford a little when i was thinking s crew and they were willing to deal just like the chevrolet dealer...They are family owned and are really a pleasure to deal with...Actually ordered mine from Mr. Covert himself....

4X4, I think I've seen you around the Austin area before. If that was you, that's a really nice truck you've got. Otherwise, there are some really supe'd up F250's around here.

Question

In yall's experience, have you gotten a better deal ordering or buying straight off the lot? Just curious, I've never ordered one before.
