Post Muffler condensation drip

I realize condensation is normal for the exhaust system but I noticed a strange amount of water leaking from my system. The other day while on a camping trip I noticed a large amount of water leaking from under my truck. I had started it cold and only drove it about 1 mile and shut it off. When I walked away from the truck I noticed a trail of water from my truck, it was coming from a small hole (pin size) on the muffler (just below where it connects to the exhaust pipe) At least a cup of water dripped from it. I don't remember my 94 Supercab ever doing that. The drip resembles the condensation that drips from the A/C unit.
Has anyone else noticed this water/condensation from the muffler? I assume because they designed the muffler with a hole, it must be normal.

My 98 supercab with 4.6L does this as well.
If I make short trips and then park on an uphill slope the water will run out of the hole at the back of the muffler. Maybe this is a good thing as this water would otherwise sit in the system until the truck runs long enough and hot enough to dry it all out. It has left one big ugly rust stain on my cement dryway though.

You're probably going to see more from the 2001's than earlier models -- due to the cleaner exhaust (emission standards). Yes, the hole is there for that reason.

Once warmed up, the vapors will diminish and probably disappear.

From what I remember (and don't quote me on this) water is a byproduct of the catalytic converter. If you notice, each year the newer vehicles make this water. As they get older they make less and less due to the converter loosing efficiency. If you know different, please correct me.
