Smile $199 entertainment system

I bought this 9" AC/DC TV with VCR from Sam's Club for $199. If you have the 60/40 front bench seat, you can just strap it down and go. I checked into an aftermarket entertainment system and it was going to cost me $1800 without a tuner.

I run a similar set up. But I set the TV on a little toolbox step from Home Depot. The step fitst behind the capts. chairs console and in front of the rear seat...It is the same height as the rear seat.

I got tired of the side speakers on the TV blaring at me and not the kids. Better still, I have my armrest back and we can set it up in the cabin when we get there.

Someday soon we will be able to replace the lid of the center console with a 8-9" LCD screen like laptops have...oh yeah, and use the laptop's DVD player!...I'm waiting...

Hey!
Are those cupholders in the center of your Lariat capt chairs interior?

That's a goof at the factory.

I remember a thread on that when all were waiting for their truck. Do you have the comfy center armrest/cupholders in the rear?

What is your truck's built date?

Hmmmm

1stSuperCrew,

It's hard to tell from the back seat, but I have the 60/40 front bench seat. I have had the 60/40 with my 97',99' and now my 01'.
I just like the big arm rest it has.

I agree with you on the noise from the speaker on the TV. Thats why I use headsets.
You can go to Best Buy or Radio Shack and get a 6' extention, splitter, and a mono to stereo converter for about $12. I have 2 kids that use it. If you have 3, I'm sure you could get another splitter. I get my headsets at the dollar store. For a buck, I keep a couple of spares in the truck.
