Post Grille Guards for SuperCrew

I'm thinking about adding a Go Rhino grille guard (the Sumatra 3000 Series) to my SuperCrew, but I haven't seen any pictures of any SuperCrews and don't know how it will look exactly. Can anyone out there provide any pictures to me of any grille guards on their SuperCrew or give me any other ideas for possible alternatives to Go Rhino products? Thanks!

Cool

I love the Manik push bars. That is the next bar I will be getting for my truck. Stay away from Grizzly. They rust quickly and aren't as solid as others. I know, I have one.

Stuka88,

Take a look at the Ranch Hand brush guards. I have been asking around (have to get one before hunting season), and everyone that has one says they are tough. Besides, they are made by Texans, for Texans

I just put a Waag grill gaurd on my 4x4 Supercrew last week. I have some pictures and will post them as soon as I can. Looks good but mounts kinda funny. As far as the Ranchhands go - I was told they are to heavy for the front of the 1/2 ton trucks, but haven't tried it personally.

Degglest,

I'll definitely check out Ranch Hand Equipment. If it's Texas though, then it's good enough for me!

Degglest,

I've got another set of questions for you. I noticed that you have the K&N filter on your truck as well as the Superchip. First, do you just have the K&N filter, or the entire air intake system? I'm going to order the air intake system this week as my truck is due in next week and I want to make sure that I have it ready to go. Just wanted to get some user info from you.

Also, how is the Superchip running for you? I was all ready to buy that as well but then learned from my roommate who has a new Eclipse (which requires premium gasoline) that it's up to $1.70 per gallon around here. That's going to cost a lot to put premium gas in a 25 gallon tank for the Superchip, so I was wondering if it was worth it.

Thanks for all of your input!

The front of the Supercrew is no differant than any other 97-up F-150. So you mean to tell me, you've never seen a grille guard on an F-150 before?

No, I've seen plenty of grille guards before on F-150s. However, I'm wondering if it will look different with the much larger cab. I was thinking about a roll bar until I saw a SuperCrew with one on it. I wasn't too sure about it with the super-short bed and all. So I was just trying to get some pictures of a SuperCrew with a grille guard to assure myself that it will look good.

stuka88,

I currently only have the K&N Filter. I have heard (unconfirmed) rumors that the FIPK needs a CARB (California Air Research Board) number for each year vehicle. Since the SuperCrews are all 2001, I don't think they have a number yet. However, since we do not live in California, I am not sure if it applies to us.

The SuperChip is great, you get more *POWER*, I mean power, but yes you have to use 92 or better octane, but you get more power (did I mention you get more power?). The SuperChip also generally gets you a extra .5 MPG (assuming same driving habits), helping offset the cost.

I also use synthetic oil, and a Gibson 3" Side Swept exhaust is also in my near future.
