Question Tires, are they approved?

In my original question I may not have been clear, that is because I don't even know what is supposed to be marked on the tires. But what I heard is that the tires must be DOT approved and have something showing this, otherwise we will have to buy new tires when we move back to the states from Europe. Thanx.

"Could somebody let me know if the tires that come on the F-150 (17 Inch) have a DOT marking on them. This is required if/when we ship this truck back to the States.
Tires ordered on this truck:
P275/60 R17 OWL All-Season.
Please let me know any other comments you might have about these tires, good and bad.

Thanx!!!"

I suspect the answer to your question is "yes", that all US tires have a DOT mark on them, but you might want to talk to a tire dealer, about your exact brand and model of tire.

dutchy,

you will be getting P265/70R17 Goodyear Wrangler RT/S tires. DOT is marked on the inside (black wall) of the tire.

even though your truck will be shipped overseas, it will be identical to those rolling off the line for sale in the states. getting it back will not be a problem. however, as you stated in your other post, you will have to conform to the netherlands requirements, i.e. rear red fog lamp.

i ordered a ranger in 93 and had it shipped to england. had no problems when i shipped it back.

Cool

EvilleSuperCrew & USAF K9
Thank you, I suspected that they would be okay, but figured that I better ask you owners just to make sure.

Thanx

Just make sure you don't get any K9P on your tires.

Angry

I'm not worried about dogs, I'm more concerned about one of the neighborhood cats walking all over the truck. But before I can start to worry about dogs or cats the truck needs to get here, we were just told that it would probably arrive late August.
