Smile Howdy!!

Howdy from Dallas! Just wanted to say howdy and that after lurking here for months I took the plunge this weekend. We had a 99 Supercab, which was handed over to the dealer today in trade for a Supercrew. I really appreciate all of the great advice and information I have gathered from this board, thanks to all of you!

I bought a Bright Red Lariat 4x4 with the 5.4, moonroof, CD changer, sliding rear window, skid plates, and grey leather. I added Ford nurf bars at cost and the dealer is spraying the back liner tomorrow at cost. They are also taking off the decals (lariat, pinstripe, and 4x4). We paid invoice plus 3% and got mid-trade in value for our 99. My second truck from this dealer.

Well enough rambling, thanks again to you all. Driving my new truck for the first time made me laugh out loud, what a hoot.

Thanks again!

Hey CrewBoy!

When I ordered my SuperCrew my dealer said he didn't know of any Ford Nerf bars they had for SCrew yet. I didn't care for factory steps and wanted bars like they put on Excursion. You have any more info on your bars?

I ordered my truck for $373 over Edmunds invoice. Great dealer to work with here in So. Indiana if anyone is nearby and looking.

The nerf bars are the Ford alloy bars. The step for each door has the rubber mat with "Ford" on it.

They are like the bars I had on the Supercab, except they are longer and connect to the truck in three places where the Supercab connected with two. I paid dealer cost for them, which I think was $300 (I don't have my paperwork with me right now).

And Congrats, that is a great price on your truck, beat me by $600! :-)

I am picking it up from the dealer tonight, I will check. I think he told me it was the generic part number for all the bars, 16470, but I will check if there is something beyond the base part number.

CrewBoy,

Sound like you got a good deal on your new truck,, what dealer did you get yours from in Dallas? I am also curious about your ford cab steps because I thought that when I ordered mine with black "cab steps" they would be the ones like the extended cab, but they were cheap running boards instead. My dealer is changing them for westin nerf bars, but I would much rather have the ford nerf bars. Do you have a part number for yours and how do they look? My dealer said that I couldnt get the ford ones as they didnt make them. But, what do they know, I knew more about the sc then all of them. Great truck

Howdy! I bought the truck at Middlekauff Ford in Plano (on Plano Parkway East of Preston). This was the second truck I bought there, very easy to deal with.

I do not have a part number, only the main number listed above. It is definitely a Ford part, with the rubber mats where you step thay say "Ford" on them. My salesman did not know the part number, but you could probably call their parts department for more details. Here is their web site: http://www.middlekauff-1.com/
