anybody ever heard of a "temporary delay". I ordered a new super crew back in feb., my dealer gave me an e.t.a last monday.Today he tells me that there is a temporary delay,he could'nt specify what the delay was. has any one had any similar experience when ordering a truck? The truck is an XLT 4x4,moon roof,3.55 LS,capt chairs,tow package,5.4,two tone white&tan,6 disc changer,auto lamp,power seats,along with all the other goodies featured in the truck. comments and suggestions please, I would just like to know something more than,"I'll see if i can find out"or the "I'll call you back" shine on.

 

I have had regular contact with the broker/business through which I ordered my SuperCrew. Last week, he told me that Ford had advised him of delays associated with the addition of the bed extender option- so I had them delete that from my specs. Other than that, I haven't heard of any production delays.

By the way, yours is spec'd out very similarly to mine!

4x4 150 SCrew XLT, Silver Metallic, 5.4, 3.55LimSlip, tow pkg, skid plates, 6 CD changer, PLUS installed aftermaket stuff: Rhino Lining, Ramsey wrap-around grille guard w/winch & custom diamond plate aluminum dog box/tool box.

Ordered mine two weeks ago, w/ and estimate of 6-12 weeks delivery time.

Ordered mine on 2/25 - dealer says he has no info for me yet. I suppose he could have delayed placing the order w/ Ford? Anyone know how long it takes for dealer to get build date from Ford once order is placed? In my particular case, I've got a '98 Expedition EB coming off lease at the end of summer, so the delay isn't exactly killing me - BUT - this truck is so cool (I sound like a 16 year old) - I hope it comes in early anyway. I've also got the Bed Extender and Moonroof on my order so I'm kind of expecting a delay. The AGONY of the wait! ;-)

 

Yep. Same "Temporary delay" on my SC ordered 2/11. Dealer didn't know reason yet. Suspect it's the moonroof. Also, may be a shortage of 5.4L engines due to the number of '99 blocks being replaced due to oil leaks. I was aware from the SC brochure and the dealer's info. that the bed-extender and the AV system were "late availability" items, but not the moonroof. Dealer had only 1 SC delivered so far. It was a Lariat w/o moonroof, and build date and delivery date were 1 month apart. Also, see the thread on delivery times for SuperCrew.

I'll join the ranks of those raising eyebrows. Nothing worse than feeling like a kid in a candy store and no one will wait on you.

I ordered on 1/25. Got a delivery date of 5 May with no explanation of why so long. I ordered none of the "late availability" items. Can only hope it will show up early.

Per my dealer fleet manager as of last Friday, all two-tone SuperCrews are on delay. He changed several of his orders to montone to avoid delay. I also asked about the rumor of 5.4 delays. He emphatically said this was not a problem. My truck was confirmed built yesterday (3/06). I am a couple of weeks out for delivery. Good luck to you all.

I ordered my Lariat 4x4 Supercrew 1/25/00 and hope to have delivery late March early April havn't heard of any delay. Good thing i went with the monotone Deep Wedgewood Blue on my order. Still hope to see one in the flesh since none have arrived on the jersey shore yet! Guess it takes longer to reach the East Coast! Oh well, still waiting for my truck. Can't wait

 

thanks to all who replied to my posting.I have seen several super crews with the sun roofs,at my local dealer they just got a 4x4 lariat with the sun roof and all the other associated goodies,totally,totally awesome....Good luck to all in your quest to posses the best.

 

I ordered a Lariat 5.4L w/ 4x4, two-tone, no moon roof, no entertainment system, and have also been given a TBA on build date. Yet my dealer's two tone arrived 2 weeks ago - if this is why there is a delay, it must be something new. By the way, as of Monday, the bed extender was still on delay. I wanted one, so my dealer entered the order without one, hoping to be able to add the extender at a later date. He's` allowed 8 changes per order before they are "locked in".

 

Dealer list shows my truck in assembly plant. No ETA yet, but the "temporary delay" is off. Don't think it's the two-tone paint, just saw Blue/Silver XLT SuperCrew in East Pa. dealer. Looks great.

to all "temporary delay" customers, talked to my dealer today.He say's that all moon roof optioned vehicles are on delay because of demand. The parts supplier cannot keep up with the amount of customer requests for the option.So,we wait. Has anybody heard anything different? Let me know, and keep the faith..........

 

Spoke to my dealer, she said that All SuperCrews were on hold for the standard opton power peddle rack. Mine has now been built and has two tone paint, 5.4, and no sun roof. Hope this helps!!!

 

Well we certainly have enough reasons from which to choose for the cause of the delay:
Lets hear from everyone! Vote for one or more. (BTW the A/V system and Bed extender don't count because Ford & the SC brochure say these are "late availability" items. The other reasons given so far in this & other threads are:
1. Moonroof
2. Two-tone paint
3. Plastic rear fenders
4. Adjustable accel./brake pedals
5. 5.4L engines.
6. Other_____________(Start a new rumor)
