Question Securilock Anti-theft System

The SuperCrew's are coming with a Securilock Anti-theft System. Does anyone know hat this is? Coded ignition key, maybe?

Cool

Truckdog, the alarm should be a Ford aftermarket system. It is covered by Fords 3/36 warranty, or 1/12 if you're out of warranty. It has a shock sensor, door trigger, starter kill, valet button built into the l.e.d., and you can use your factory remotes. They also offer a system that comes with remotes if you don't have factory keyless. I install these at my dealership.

Exactly so. Expensive if you lose your key and need a new one reprogrammed. There is a three page description in the owners manual. I haven't got the truck yet but downloaded the owners manual from the ford owners site. Something more for you to drool over in anticipation. The site is http://www.ownerconnection.com
and check and fill out the forms like you are the owner of the supercrew.

Yes, the ignition key has a chip in it that has to be programed to have the truck recognize it. I already bought a spare to put in the truck if I loose my keys. I know I will appreciate the keyless entry then. Spare key cost $32 from the dealer.

When I bought the truck I asked the dealer if this was an alarm system and his answer was no, but one was available for $400, which turned me off. Has anyone heard what that system would include?

docker,

The reprogramming was extremely simple, if you have two already programmed keys.
