Talking They have arrived...

I drove past the dealer today and they had one on the ramp out front.I had to climb a 8ft snow bank to get at it but it was worth it.

I was pleasantly surprised to find the prices right in line with the web site posted elsewhere in this forum.

Two dealers in Dallas called me last Thursday, Feb. 10, saying they have some in stock. I was out of town until today and didn't get the message. Guess I'll go at lunch and have a look.

I saw two in the Atlanta Area Saturday. Chrome wheels on the Lariat are not what I want. Everything else looked pretty good.

Mine is scheduled for delivery 2/28/2000.

I am in Palm Springs on "business" and I noticed a Supercrew on the lot as I drove by the local dealer. I had to stop and take a look. Very nice! I also picked up two brochures.

USAF K9, do you still need a brochure?

FYI - in the brochure, the 17 in. 10-spoke wheels for the XLT are listed as a late availability item. Those of us who ordered them may find ourselves waiting a little longer for delivery. The wheels don't look too bad. I can live with them.

The Supercrew is indeed a very nice vehicle

LRM,

Thanks for remembering me. Yes, I'm still wanting/needing a brochure. If you could deliver it would be greatly appreciated.

I noticed in cabframer's post he's getting his truck in the morning with the 17" wheels. At the same time, I was just informed my original delivery of apr is now mid-may. Hmmm.

Red face

USAF-

MAY?!?! S*** Didn't you order early January??? You didn't order the bed extended or VHS opton, right? My dealer said those two things are holding up some orders, but didn't think you had either one. Ordered mine 1 Feb and just got a VIN# with a build date that I won't know until later this week. Starting to get the impression a VIN # can be supplied Months before build/delivery.

F150 SuperCrew,

No bedextender or vhs system. Not sure why mine is so long, but, have been learning from you guys. I'm gonna see about getting a VIN.

Keep in mind, we're doing everything through faxes and a 10 hr time difference which rules out alot of phone calls.

Regardless, not pleased with the delay.

Cool

I odered a 4x2 Lariat on Dec. 17th and still don't have a VIN or build date. I think the Lariats are taking alot longer than the XLT's. Local dealers here in Austin,TX have gotten 2 4x4 XLT's on 2/13 and I checked one of them out and it is very nice. I really can't wait now. My dealer ordered a truck in Oct. exactly like mine except with the moonroof and it is supposed to be in 2/28. I told him I would take that one instead if it came in sooner than mine. I didn't order the bed extender or entertainment option.

Unhappy

Blue-
Understand the frustration. The Ford rep and my dealer said those ordering Lariat's should actually have BETTER luck?!? Usually the manufacturer does way the cost of the build in shuffling build dates. More money, a little higher priority. Then again the priority code business is often alot of hype. Example: I fyou ordered a Chestnut Lariat and the line is churning out greens for 3 days then scheduled to have a run of blue, your order can be delayed. (this is per about 5 or 6 dealers and one rep) They all say it can be a crap shoot at the factory. I ordered ine 1 Feb and have a vin#, and ordered from a mom and pop dealer. They may be allocated 5 all year!!! Doesn't seem to make sense. good luck

Well my old screen name was BlueSuperCrew, but I had to change it after I bought a Gold SuperCrew 4x4 Lariat. Had ordered a Blue 4x2 Lariat on Dec. 17th and had no Vin # or date. Dealer had ordered an identical truck, with the exception of moonroof in Oct. Had a Vin # for this one but no date or info. Dealer called me today and said two trucks showed up, a 4x2 XLT and 4x4 Lariat. Went to check out the Lariat and brought the wife with me. After test drive she said buy it because I was driving her crazy waiting for my truck to arrive. These are very nice trucks and are going to sell faster than hot cakes. Drives very nice, and I am very impressed. I was at the dealers 3 hours after truck dropped them off and there was a swarm of people around the trucks like flies on sh**!! Supposed to pickup on Thursday the 17th. Well report back when dust settles!

They have arrived in Bakersfield, Ca.

I went to my local dealer and looked at a black one the first one they had unloaded. It was a XLT 4x4. It had the ten spoke wheels with 17" tires. Wasn't real wild about the wheels.

This truck wasn't spoken for yet and could of been mine today but I just don't want a black one. The dealer also had two more that were still on the truck a silver XLT 4x4 and a white two wheel drive.

I've got my heart set on a red one and don't want to comprimise....

GoldSuperCrew,

Good strategy. Why didn't I think of that. I know my wifes tired of hearing about "the truck". You 'da man.
