steering wheel trim

Vehicle - '03 F150 Supercrew. 4x4 Lariat. Leather interior.

I gave my steering wheel and angry punch yesterday:o I dented the Ford emblem in the center of the steering wheel. If you barely touch the emblem on the steering wheel the horn will honk. So I would like to get behind the emblem and pop it back out.

I have read the manual and I see how to take the trim panel off but the airbag comes with it. Does anyone know how to get the trim itself separated from the whole airbag so that I can pop out the emblem?

I ask the questions because if it really can't be separated then I don't want to go through rmoving it all just to find out that it can't easily be done.

Thanks in advance.

I've had the thing apart before (steering wheel swap ) but I didn't take notice of how the bag separates from the front cover. Sorry,
but I'm sure it dose separate. You should be able to figure it out when you look at it.
If you ever need a new airbag,,it doesn't come with the front plate. So just get it off there and go for it.
