If anyone pays more than $1k for it new, they are dumb. Since they are color matched, they can be harder to sell used because most people want it color matched to their truck. $3-500 depending on location and color. If you have a popular color such as silver, white, black, tan and live in a large city, $500.

Some of the nicer/high end models go for big money, then throw in a paint job and they get expensive.

I have no idea what it's worth. Ask your buddy what the prices are for new ones then go from there.

I just find that hard to believe!

I just purchased a Leer topper (aka camper) for my 08 Screw and I paid $600. I would not have paid one cent more. I only paid that because the toppers for the 5.5' bed are harder to find. The 6.5' bed toppers are more common, so the price is lower. If you search on Craigslist (where I got mine) you'll find most toppers for the 6.5' bed are selling for around $500.

Not to worry. I thought the very same thing you posted when I saw his reaction (or should I say over reaction) to garebel's sarcastic remark but... I didn't post it... but it was exactly what I thought.
