i have a 4x4 2002 screw with 5.4, with no lift of any type

im looking at two tires in particular

and going with mamba m1's 20 inch's

so my question is whats the biggest tire i could get in each type,

i would like 35-10x20, and i will be getting a lift soon after

 

I'd suggest 305/55-20's (33x12.50) on a 20x10 inch wheel with 4.5 inches of backspacing. This combo will fit your truck by just cranking up the torsion bars and trimming some plastic off the front bumpers lower valance. If you are gonna lift the truck shortly, just do everyting at once and go with a 35x12.50-20.

For a 10" wide wheel, you will want more than 1" of rubber on either side to help protect it.

35" tires will not fit on those wheels on your truck without a lift. Either do it all at once, or just stick with 33" tall tires.

FWIW, your new combo will weight almost twice as much as stock. Expect to take a performance hit (acceleration, braking, fuel economy).

 

In that case, I'd suggest a set of 20x9 inch wheels with 4.5 inches of bs and a set of 285/55-20's (33x11.50).

 

im getting a chip, cai and body lift so i should be fine with the 35's

after i looked at cousins truck im just going to get the 35-12x20 all she has is a body lift

APT i know i will get lower fuel economy but thanks for the info

Yes, you will be fine. I have a body lift and 35x12.50's. I just have 16's instead of 20's.

RIght. More bs tucks the wheel in. Less bs pushes the wheel out. Your oem wheels have 4.5 inches of bs.

 

would a 5 3/8 or 5 3/4 of BS, work with a six inch fabtech lift

 

I'm not sure but I wouldn't want that much backspacing on an offroad style wheel for a 97-03 F-150.
