I have 180K on 2001 Super Crew with the Romeo 4.6 engine. It started stuttering and making a bad ticking sound. I took it to a mechanic and he thinks it is in the valve train. he is still checking out the damage but I may be in need of an engine. I still like my truck to much to let her go. Any recommendations on finding a used motor? The mechanic will do the swap for 600 - 800 depending how much needs to be swapped between motors. I live in central Illinois and would be willing travel a 100-150 miles to pick up the engine. Help guys Help...
