Anyway to increase mpg?

I know this subject has been beaten to death, but i got tired of searching without finding a good solid answer. I have a 01 4x4 screw and im only averaging 10.5mpg and its mainly highway miles. Is there any sure fire ways to get 2-3 mpg outta it. id love to see 15 but i know that wont happen. My truck has the 5.4. all stock except for true duals, no mufflers. i know this is probably hurting my mpg a little, but im not changing it. Truck has 285/75/16 terra grapplers too. id like to swap for stock fx4 wheel n tires but i cant find anyone that wants my crappy lookin wheels. Thanks guys for helping a newb

I'd buy a programmer. I was getting 12mpg all the time, didn't matter if it was highway or city and it was extremely frustrating.

I finally convinced myself to buy the Gryphon and now I'm averaging 15mpg. On highway I've seen it as high as 17.

BTW, I have the same tires but didn't notice too much of a difference going from the stock BFG tire over to the Nitto's.

5.4 as well

Usually if someone is wanting to gain MPG, I am pretty sure we are all assuming they have already moved to "light in the foot" since it is the free easy method.

#1: "gotts intake"
#2: E-fans
#3: underdrive pulleys
#4: mufflers
#5: re-gear to 4.10's since you probably have 3.55's
#6: custom tune

why the regear? It already runs around 2k rpm at 70, i dont want it running any higher since it spends more time on the interstate then city driving.really dont want mufflers either, i dont think its loud enough as is. I considered E-fans, but read about peoples quitting on them going down the road. im considering saving up for the gryphon programmer sooner or later.

what gears do you have now?

you can run underdrive pulleys without e-fans and that'll heal your mileage a bit.

also changing out your plugs and cleaning your throttle body might help what you have right now
