2008 F150 Crew - Issues

Hey guys I was in the bed of my new truck and noticed I could see the concrete below.. that seems very abnormal to me. It was the seam between the flat part of the bed and the box side. Anyone else have this issue? It is going back to the dealer next week for them to look at it.

I also had them put the molded mudguards on and there are 2 things I dont like... they are not straight and they have a space that is allowing sand and gritt between them and the truck... these are made for Ford by Ford... I am not happy with that... they had best take them off and fix the paint.

O Yea did I mention someone hit it in the parking lot 3 weeks after I got it... I am not having good luck with this new truck..The new door gets put on Next week.

I love the truck.. it is just being a pain in the ____ right now.

About a month ago,p/u a new 08 texas edition screw and have 2900 miles on it and not one problem.I really like the truck feeling of sitting high and nice ride. I had a 02 expedition some time ago than went to the chevy side and now back on with the blue oval.

Another thing you can look forward to with those mudflaps is that the screws corrode and break after some time. Especially if you live anywhere that gets snow. Road salt will get in that gap. I just put new screws in my front flaps a couple of months ago after I almost lost the front flap on the drivers side.

Sorry to hear about your issues! I'm sure if it's something that needs fixing it will be taken care of for you. I've got an '08 FX4 with 5,000 miles and I've got no issues at all with mine.

Wow I was also in the back of my truck preparing it for a liner. I also did see a gap between the bed and the front of the bed. I was thinking of sealing it before putting a liner on. I don't remember seeing that on my 2002 SCrew. Apparently its normal.

If you have issues with your brand spanking new 2008 truck, take it to the dealer.

I see the gap you mention, I assume this is normal for drainage? The mudflaps can be adjusted, I have them too and installed mine, I cant imagine a dealer paying a mechanic to install those, oil change guy, wash kid yes, mechanic no.

I am sure but my point was if this was a truck for stock out on the lot and not sold, I am sure the owner/manager/gm would rather not pay a tech 2 or 3 hours when an hourly guy can do the same job. Of course if someone comes into the service department wanting to get splash guards installed, viola.
