2005 blower fan removal help

how do I remove the blower motor fan for the heat/ac on a 2005 supercrew? The fan runs ok on the first 2 speeds but makes a bad "clicking noise when running in the 2 higher speed. Got the 3 screws out that hold the fan in, but not enough clearance under the dash to pull it out. Is there a trick? am I going about it in the wrong way. I though about folding the carpert back and taking out a piece of the sound deading material to make a little more room but even with the carpet and deading material out of the way still does nort look like I would have enough clearence. Help!! it's about to get hot in the south and I need my ac at high speed for the summer.

Instead of pulling the fan, you need to look at the resistor for the fan. This is what controls the speed. It probably has one leg burnt out. It should be mounted near the fan in the blower box assy.

I dont think it is the resister, the fan blows on the top two speed but is making a noise like it is hitting something in side the fan mounting box. I dont know if something fell into or go sucked up by the fan and is now lodged in there or if something is wrong with the "squirrl cage or the impeller". Help does anyone know how to get it out

from all data:

Removal and Installation

1. Remove the RH lower A-pillar trim panel.
2. Position aside the carpet below the blower motor.
3. Disconnect the blower motor electrical connector.
4. Remove the 3 blower motor screws.
5. Remove the blower motor.
