Bed Vibrations

I was just curious if anyone has had problems with bed vibrations, rattling or anything else similar with the SuperCrew FX4's?

there were problems with this and ford installs a counter balance weight on the frame under the bed to offset the shake. my 07 had the weight installed already when i purchased the truck.

I have a 2007 XLT supercrew and I was going to post a question regarding the noise that is driving me nuts. It sounds like the same thing you are having. Whenever, I drive over rough roads the rattling is very annoying. I am unsure if it is coming from the tailgate or the bed somewhere. I hope this is not normal, and there is a simple fix...............

Mine does the same, looks horrible in the rear view. Seems to bounce a lot more on the drivers side than the pass. side judging by looking at the tailgate. Anyone got any ideas on how to fix it?

I have owned several truck's and this 07 is the first I have ever seen do this. If I would have test driven it before I bought it I don't think I would have. I'm happy with it, But the bed walk drives me crazy so I make the wife drive it most of the time. If anyone has a solution let us know! Wooden flatbed maybe

My bed vibrated badly and I could see see in my rearview mirror the oddity...bouncing/rattling at highway speed. I was concerned until rotating the tires. There was an unbelievable amount of dried mud inside all 4 wheels that had been there for many months left over from a wet rainy deer hunting season. I cleaned out the mess and the bouncing disappeared.

If your talking about bed bounce on the highway- get your tires re-balanced. Other than that, bed shake is pretty common on the 04+ F150s. I think it has something to do with the frame being so stiff that it amplifies all the vibrations from the road..Think I read that somewhere before.

I wouldn't worry about it, I know 3 guys with 04+ F150s besides myself and every single one (including me) has bed shake.

This isn`t a problem for pre -03 models,is it...?

I drive a 2003 KR and I don`t have any issues with the bed vibrating over any surfaces (even w. 3-ply BFG AT's)... I guess our older trucks have a much softer frame.

Besides the bed bouncing, does anyone hear squeaking when they go over bumps? My truck is an 07 screw, and when it is below 35 degrees, there is a loud squeak coming from under the bed when I hit any bumps. I hope this is normal.
