'07 5.4L SC 4X4 DC to Boston empty I was getting around 19mpg with the cruise at 72mph. On the return towing 4,000 pounds and the cruise on 55mph I was getting around 17mpg.

My MPG has been up and down helter skelter. I just recently added underdrive pulleys and heard that would add at least 1mpg. I got 15.7 about a month ago prior to the pulleys and after pulleys 15.5 but now my last tank was 14.7 with me not driving like a racer. Thats been the deal I have not been able to get good MPG on a consistent basis. Will fill up in the morning and see what this tank holds.

Took a 4800 mile vacation from Louisiana to the Black Hills and Yellowstone last summer...my carefully documented and calulated average for the trip was 20.9 mpg.

On the return leg only, from Yellowstone back to Louisiana, the average was 21.9 mpg...

of course, the return leg was all downhill...

heck, it's downhill to Louisiana from just about anywhere

15-17 most weeks. Mostly highway at 75 - 80. I could improve mpg if I slow down but then it would take me longer to get there.

I've been doing much more city driving and have been averaging about 13-5-14.6 city the past 5 weeks. The higher average is when I tend to take the one short highway stretch and keep the truck rolling at 60mph.

On the highway, I can average anywhere from 16.5-21. Living in Montana, I have some highways that have a number of long inclines and if I push the truck, it drops the mpg pretty quick....

I don't even bother with mine around town because I know it sucks, but wanted to check it on the freeway since I have a few road trips coming up. I topped off right before a ~60 mile trip that was mostly freeway speeds and about 7 stoplights. I stuck to the speed limit and did grandma accelerations. When I got there, the needle was still half on the full line. However, when I got home, I was solidly on the 3/4 tank line . Overall I ended up with what to seems to be an average 17.75mpg on a stock truck. Could be better, but could be much worse, I guess

I average between 14.5 and 15.5 MPG combined. Not bad for a truck with 35" MT's and that weighs in at over 6k.
