Door AJAR

I was wondering if anyone here has had the problem of your truck "beliving" that your drivers side door is AJAR? I have an '01 Screw that just occasionally thinks this. Therefor, it keeps the light on the dash and the cargo lights on too. I did not see a door sensor or plunger that may be sticking.

Any help would be great!

Thanks
Jay

You need to spray some graphite lube into that door latch. It won't eat up the innards of the door like WD-40 can.

That should get things all loosened up again as the switch is built into teh latch assembly.

a little search will show that this is extremely common.

the switch that registers the door as being closed is inside the door frame.

If you look down you will see the black guide bar that slides in and out of the frame when you move the door. Spray some lube in there. That should fix the problem.
