Angry 05 Supercrew Won't Go In 4x4

I went out tonight and my truck will not go in 4 wheel drive. I turn the switch to 4 hi and it doesn't light up on dash either. It only has 21,000 miles and I guess I'll be using the warranty. Has anyone had this problem? Thanks.

The first suspect is usually the electric shift motor on the transfer case. Number two is the IWE vacuum solenoid on the firewall. The shift motor failed on my 06 with less than 12k on the clock.

My 05 took a fit like that about a year ago just after I had the 30k transimission service. Try to switch to 4 hi @ 25 mph. I did this several times and then mine straightened right up and has been perfect since. I am at 45k now.

Best of luck with your truck

Kenny

The dealer found a bad wire that goes to the 4x4 switch. An easy fix.

Glad it was no more than a bad wire. Small problems like that sure can be an aggrivation.

Good luck with your truck
