Which 08 SCrew to get?

Hey guys I'm looking at 2 SCrews that are at a local dealership.

The first one is a black XLT and I'd look to put a 2-2.5" leveling kit along with bigger wheels/tires on it. I'd go with a full blacked out look and make it look really sinister.

Here's a quick link:

I'm also looking at the sportier side too. I'm looking at a FX2 sport. I like how it looks, but I'm wondering if it would look good with a 2-2.5" leveling kit and bigger tires on those 20s or if that would take away from it's look?

I like both, but I'm trying to figure out which one to go with....suggestions...comments?

Personally, I like the first one and black it all out. I think it will look better when it's all done.

The first one is 4WD, the second isn't. Do you plan on off roading at all or will this just be street? They both have 3.55 gears, but the first is LS... Which is better for off roading. But anything bigger than a leveling kit and
33s you'll notice a signicant loss in power. I had 3.55 open on my 2000 4x4 will a Body Lift and 35s. And she certainly wasn't the fastest thing on the road, but it was tolerable.

Just a few things to consider. I have 3.79LS on my 03 now with 35s and the EDGE, and there is a pretty big difference between that and my old 2000 with the same set up.

Yeah I'm leaning towards the black, but the FX2 does catch my eye. I guess my big concern right now is when I upgrade to bigger wheels/tires and having to worry about the damn TPMS. There's a lot of online stores that have great deals with mounting/balancing, but I still have to deal with that light coming on if I don't get the sensors put in.

I don't plan on doing any serious off roading, but if I have the opportunity I'll take it!

I don't plan on going with any really big wheel/tire setup.....20s are my limit....I'm still looking to keep it at 18s, but we'll see.

I'm wondering how the 20s from the FX2 would look on some beefier tires and on the XLT??

Buy the black one and leave it alone! Nice clean look is best.

I looked at both again today. I love the look of the black one on the outside, but the interior of that FX2 is just so sweet.

Being a little older, I go for the creature comforts. Since you are in Georgia, four wheel drive is not a neccessity, so my choice would be the red one. When you are cruising, what you see and feel is what is on the inside. But that's just me.

I think the Sports looks better. I don't like Red very much but I like it a lot better than Black.

My vote is for the FX2.

Here is a pic of 5.4LARIET's truck (and the link to his gallery) and he did the same thing that you are talking about doing. Leveling kit, 33" Nitto Terra Grapplers, etc... and it looks great.

Your only option right now with the TPMS is to dis-mount the stock tires, remove the sensors, and place them in the new wheels before mounting and balancing. YOu can buy the new bands from Ford or used safety wire like I did in mine. Either way, it is a P.I.T.A. and it added at least an hour to the process of the new wheels and tires.

Put some 33" Terra Grapplers on the stock FX2 wheels and it will look great. They are a sporty looking wheel, you will have no sensors to switch, and as mentioned above, you are in Georgia, the 4x4 will almost never get used anyways. I did just fine for two years in a 1999 2WD F-150 (non L.S. rear end) in Cleveland, Ohio winters so I know you will be fine.

I ended up going with the black XLT instead of the FX2 sport. I'm getting the FX2 sport headlights and grill, as well as an AS 2" leveling kit put on before I even pick it up!

Nice looking truck, good choice. I would have to put on some 33 or 34" tires since it's leveled!
