Question Help with engine problem

I have a 2001 supercrew and I have a problem. When my rpm's are below 1500 it jumps and acts like it wants to quit. My service engine soon light came on so I took it to auto zone and put it on the code reader. They said it needed a tune up. I had the spark plugs changed and when I drove it it seemed better but now when it's closer to 1000 rpm's it still does the skipping thing. My service engine soon light does not come on any more. What could be making it do this?

What engine do you have? What kind of plugs are you running now?

I would go back to the dealer and ask them if Ford recommends the Bosch over OEM Motorcraft plugs. Do a search on Bosch plugs vs Motorcraft. You could be having a coil problem but they usually start showing up at a higher RPM.

It does the jumping when I start off and when it is going through the gears. It does it real bad below 1500 rpms. I asked a guy at advanced auto and he said it could be the coil so this weekend my husband is going to change the coil on that cylinder.
