Ashtray Light???

I read that it's normal(???) for my 2007 Lariat Screw ($43,000+) not to have lights under the hood, glovebox or console (dumb Ford, dumb!).

Is there supposed to be a light for the ashtray or cigarette lighter?? I bought the truck used, with the ashtray removed.

TIA

Mike

Not to jack this thread, but I was wondering about a couple of things in my '04 that I thought should be lit. I bought it used w/16K miles on it, so I'm not sure. Anyway, the power mirror control, the window control lock switch and the O/D switch. None of mine are lit, are they supposed to be?

Why does it matter if they are lit anyways? It's a lot easier and safer to just learn where they are that way you can concentrate on the road. It just becomes second nature after you drive it for a while.

i think its the point of buying a a top of the line truck and you dont get a damn light! i got a 07 xlt and i'm not to thrilled about not seeing the damn cupholder, but i fixed that dilemma. its not like f150's screw are exactly cheap. i hear ya guys, makes me think of a slogan one of our customers use: add value not cost. whomever designed the insides of these trucks must have failed that course/or spilled boiling coffee on his leg because he couldnt see the cupholder

I only use my ashtray for business card, coins, and some miscellaneous cash for a burger or coffee. It's pretty easy for me to lift my hand and turn on the dome light if I need it -- be happy you have the best truck on the market. And nothing is perfect. I would like more cup holders and storage but still, the best truck out there is the FORD. Have two friends who purchased 07 Tundras with all the bells and whistles, they both have issues with things like the bed is not stable, the transmission shifts strangely and the limited slip is flawed. I'll take the small issues anyday (like not having lights all over the place over the bigger problems). Just my 2 cents worth.
