06 supercrew dash modification??

my 06 super crew dash has a "cutout" in the center of the dash. probably so the junk you put up there won't roll around.
i don't put ANYTHING on my dash, so this is just going to be a dust collector. anyone have any ideas of what i could put in that spot?
thanks

I would say it depends on how much sun it gets. I put airfreshners up there, the heat from the sun keeps them going good. Other than that, I think it was a wasted design; not sure what they intended it use would be. I do not even through my keys up there. I guess a map would be okay for long trips, but mine are in the side door slots.

Well, you could always install a Search button, so you could find threads like this: https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...center+channel

Here's another: https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...ghlight=saleen

There are more ideas on this site as well....just need to go look, is all.

Good luck.

Yup - in that linky I posted. All you need is an HU that supports it, and content with center-channel information, as it's pretty much useless without it !

I don't use the tray on the dash very often myself. Before the new design of the dashes of the later model F150's I didn't use the dash for anything.
I cut a pieces of Gray carpet that matches the floor carpet in my '07 Screw and put it in the tray, making it easy to remove if need be.

Brandmotion makes a navigation system that is plug and play that replaces the center tray.

First - spell the name correctly (dconder) - second the little camera icon on each of his posts ( upper right in the info section) will take you there...

Here's linky direct to it: https://www.f150online.com/galleries....cfm?gnum=8599

So - decided what you are putting there besides air fresheners yet?

talked with a guy who does speakers etc. told him i don't really need another speaker, not really into fancying up the stereo. he told me to get "leather" or fabric from the local upholstery guy and he will make an insert to fit and cover it with my fabric. i guess i could "hide" something under there??

It's the perfect spot for your shades. I leave mine there all the time when I leave the truck or at night. They never slide around at all .....
