My '07 4.6L has about 16,000miles on it and has developed some sort of squeek this week. It's a realy high pitched squeek at low speed and sometimes at high speeds as well. It's not real loud but you can definitely hear it. Before I take it to the dealer does anyone know what this could possibly be? Thanks.

 

Inside or outside? If it's outside, lube the tailgate latches.

 

Ditto on the tail gate. That's where you usually get an outisde squeak or rattle. Tail gate rattle and bed squeaks were quite common on the 2005 year model. My 2007 is quite a bit quieter.

The passenger side dash often develops a squeak, most noticeable when going over bumps. Two pieces of the interior frame meet behind/right of the passenger air bag. Most dealers find a simple foam block shoved between the two members, or between the members and the dash panels will stop the squeak.

If you have a moon roof, you may have head-liner rattle. There's a long standing TSB to put foam blocks under the liner to stop the rattle. The 2007 models comes with quite a bit of foam already in place up there, but sometimes it's not enough.

The power rear window is notorious for rattle. The TSB just calls for some felt backed tape on the rail. Simple, and it works. Same fix for ash tray rattle.

 

sounds like my 07.. it doesn't always do it, but when it does it is annoying. real high pitched and when the rear slider is open it is unbearable. guess I will look for rubbing today.. and get some lube for it and see if it helps. Thought it was my magnaflow system at first.
