i have a 2001 screw that i bought from a lil dealership. i was wondering how i can find out if it has keyless entry. the dealership didnt give me any remotes but my friend has the same truck with keyless entry....do i need to just buy a remote and try it?

 

Just switch the key on and off 8 times ending in the on position.Don't start the truck just the on position. If the truck came with keyless entry, the door locks will lock and then unlock.

 

All supercrews came with keyless entry. I don'tr know how much the dealer charges for them, but should be easy to program. You can try to find some used fobs on Ebay or classifieds here and reprogram them, but an aftermarket system would be work for $100 installed. Add remote start for another $100 for a basic system.

 

thanks guys, i tried the turn off and on 8 times and my locks popped up and down. I guess im gonna look around on ebay for a factory remote. I would love to have remote start but cant budget it.

 

Just search online for the fob. Probably around Forty dollars. To finish he programming just hold the lock and unlock buttons down together after you cycled the key the eight times and you will hear the locks cycle one more time and the fob is programmed. Ford really makes only one keyless entry fob so you cant go wrong. It's squared with the two unlock and lock buttons and then the panic button below.
