I doubt it was jealousy or malice. Thoughtless, yes. I'd throw in careless as well. I'm sure that if the person knew the damage that would result from such action the individual in question would have taken better precautions. As it is the worker will probably end up losing their job over this and I can't say it isn't warranted. I too would be extremely upset if I were in your position. These are not cheap trucks.

Bear in mind that the idiot pushing/driving the mower was more than likely one of our honored and undocumented visitors from south of the border. Always remember that they make our American Experience so much better. Okay, enough of that. You've done everything right, in fact more than right. That landscaping co. is totally at fault and don't forget to make them provide you a rental to drive (beat the s h i t out of) while your truck is restored to FACTORY looks.
Good luck!!

Sorry again but why didn't the body shop clean off the grass & crud to get a good estimate the first time? I know you said it is your buddy's shop but that would make me wonder if there is something else that they would miss. Me personally, I would take it to the Ford dealer for repairs. If someone else is paying for it then let the dealer fix it. Just my .02.

Good luck,
Bob

That is usually bad advice.
Most dealer body shops suck. Some dealers just farm out their work to the lowest bidder. If your dealer is better thats great.

I was in a rush to get an estimate down to the Landscapers office asap, not my buddies fault/mine if anybodies........I have known him for the past 19Yrs., body work is all he does. He has a race team & uses DuPont materials, all work is top notch, his shop is state of the art with latest equipment. It's always better to deal with somebody you know in these matters. Plus when Dupont sends him free Hospitality NASCAR TICKETS, he has taken me to many a NASCAR RACE/ yes I have met Jeff Gordon on more that one occasion, (Not proud to say LOL) due to DuPont's Hospitality, however I am a HUGE JUNIOR FAN......

The problem though at this point is you have a different est. a day later from the same place for almost double the cost. If it were to go to small claims court it would look bad on your part. Though I understand you were in a hurry, it was a mistake to have overlooked something that important, and I'm sure your sister would agree. Dont get me wrong I am sorry your truck was damaged and I hope it gets repaired to your satisfaction but I wanted to make you aware of that incase something is said about the new estimate by the lawn service owner.

This thread is screaming for pictures......

Try and stay cool and let the situation play out. What is done - is done. Hope it works out for you and the repairs are close to perfect. I'm leaning towards you getting it painted and repaired by Ford as others have stated.

Long story short.......the Landscapers Insurance Co., paid out a check, for $1500.00, took the truck into the shop, where it was fixed as good as showroom.......very happy indeed........

First off, it's not "just a truck" to some people. Some of us worked VERY hard to get these trucks, and they mean a lot to us. and to those of us who do care, we also realize once something is "fixed" or repainted it will never be the same again.

...and just because YOUR truck will be dented, dinged, and scratched in a few years sure doesn't mean ours will be. My Ranger went 3 years without a single dent, ding, or major scratch. I'm at 2 years on my F150 and I can say the same...
I'll never own a vehicle that I'd be worried to get dented ... If I were like that I wouldn't be able to sleep at night.

Im coming up on 4 years, and i have my fair share of door dings, and scratches, and dents. Sad thing is there are several dents/scratches that i know i caused... And not to mention some jack stick decided to try to break into my truck unsuccessfully and dented my door, and chiped and broke my passenger door handle
