Going to buy new truck saturday

I found a black on black 150 screw lariat and have a three questions!
I like everything about the truck but the fake wood grain panels on the doors and dash, can they be switched out for the carbon fiber looking ones on the fx4 series? and as far as keeping black paint clean and new looking do you use the dri wash system to keep the swirl marks out ?

and last the sticker price is $43,625.00 any ideas on what I could get it for the dealer said he would sell it at invoice is that a gimmick or?

Thanks Ray

Don't know about switching out the interior panels, I agree the fake wood is very cheesy, but the invoice price should be about $9 - $10K less than list.. At least that will be what they tell you. New, '07, Lariat Screw shouldn't be any more than $32k or so, the adds in the paper here list them about that range all the time.

Let us know how it goes, and good luck!!

Go to Kelly Blue Book (kbb.com), new vehicle section, and price out your truck with its options. KBB will provide the MSRP and the invoice price for you. Also, if you are trading something in, it will give you the average trade-in value of your vehicle. BTW, the "invoice" price still provides the dealer with a profit - how much depends on a lot of factors, including the amount of time the truck has set on his lot, his monthly sales volume, etc. The dealer gets rebates from Ford, depending on how good he is.

My 07 Lariat deal in early May - invoice price less $3,000 rebate and $1,000 more from the dealer hold back - MSRP was 41,835 invoice was $37,960. I paid $33,960 about $8,000 under MSRP.

What part of the country are you in?

If you are in Texas, Mac Haik has been running deals for the last two months. I bought an F150 Lariat Supercrew 4X4, 5.4L, black with tan leather, 20" rims and Pirelli tires - about a week ago, and did no negotiating. Their advertised price seemed to be the best deal by far. There were a couple of stipulations, though. The sticker on the truck was $38,300, but they have a b.s. protection package on all their trucks that adds $1595 to total sticker. So, actual sticker was $39895. From that, they gave a $13,500 rebate - so total (before ttl) was $26,395. The other stipulation besides the protection package was that you had to finance through Ford. No big deal, I will just refinance in the next couple of days - there is no prepayment penalty. I think this was a good deal, and it relieved all of the back and forth between sales mgr and myself. So, if you are in the area, check with them on what they have running right now.
