Bed Extender

Just curious, do they make bed extenders for the '03 body style super crew trucks? The width of the tailgate is what makes me ask. Could you fit 2 full-size dirt bikes in the back of one of those trucks with a bed extender? Three?

What company can you get one of the bed extenders from for one of these trucks?

Westin makes the OEM bed extender for 2001-2003 Screw as well as an aftermarket one. However, the aftermarket one requires drilling new holes to mount it. I'd just search for a used one.

I thought I would really want one coming fro mthe 6.5' bed to the 5.5' bed, but I think it would would have been more of a hassle than useful for me.

Bed Extender

I have a bed extender out of my 02 SCREW with the mounting post and gommets to "lock-in" the extender for sale.

Also have a 5.5' "Ford" bedmat and a K/N air filter for a 4.6L.

I Dont think mines a hassle at all. When it is flipped inside the bed it makes a nice little cargo area to keep things from flying around, and when its flipped outside over the tailgate it gives you more room to carry larger things like lawnmowers, bikes, couches, and what ever. I like mine.

I loved mine, I did not "store it" in the truck, but it came in handy many times. I traded the 02 Screw for an 07 and it does not fit, so it is doing nothing more than eating up space here. AWESOME add-on though!

I have put 2 full size dirt bikes, an XR100, YZ80 plus all our gear, in my truck. I love the bed extender. I also keep it in the bed. Like others it sub-divides the bed to keep things bouncing around. I have a spare extender for an "03 but cant get to it for 3 weeks.

For the record, I've never used a bed extender and never have I wished I had it. I did cut a 2x8" for a divider at the rear of the bed for similar in-bed function. I have read some people comment that getting ATV's or larger objects into the bed more of a hassle than without because the extender has to be unmounted to get the cargo/machines in and remounted vs. just flipped which is more convieniently designed. By definition the cargo is longer than the bed and may intefere with access to mount the extender.

I've hauled plenty of cargo wit the tailgate down and either accelerate carefully or strap it down. Like I said, never have I wished I had it, now that I own the 5.5' bed.

I have a 2001 Supercrew and the bed extender will allow two dirt bikes in nicely, you probably could get three in there but not nicely!!!! I usually haul one and the extender works perfect. I have never hauled three bikes in there, but they should fit. I usually haul 1 bike in the truck and 1 quad on the trailer. I have it all loaded up and ready to go for the big weekend up north! Just have to wait till work is over!
