Hey..........

I went to NAPA and picked mine up. I didnt know what the name was, I just told them I needed the tool to change it. They gave me a set of these tools that have about 5 different sizes. One of the sizes fit my truck. I think I paid $4.99 for it.

just ask for a fuel line disconnect tool for a ford at any of the autoparts stores (I got a metal one at autozone for around $7.00). The fuel line locks are spring loaded and are actually on the inside of the hose. The tool slips into the inside of the fuel line, between the metal filter line and the flexible (rubber?) fuel line you need to disconnect it from. Then just push in & it should release. If it hasn't been changed in a while you might have some dirt/crud, that makes it difficult to disengage.

I am not sure on the truck how the fuel system works but let it sit for a while before changing it. It may keep pressure in the fuel lines for awhile.

Just pop the gas cap before you get started. You may get a little dribble on ya, but you'll live. It's a 5 minute job.

Also, a wise man changes the filter about every 15,000. It's amazing what you see run out of the tank side of the old filter after removal.

i know what you mean, but I have changed mine 3 times now, and including dragging the jack and a stand out, maybe 15 minutes max.
