New 07 Screw

Hello all and THANK YOU in advance for any help you may be able to provide.

Traded the 02 Screw for a 07 Screw Lariat, with chrome package and am very happy!

1. Is there an interior air filter??? Seems like it would be a no brainer to have, but unable to find anything on it.

2. Any tips/tricks/goodies hidden I may not have found???

3. Looking to add a remote start, just do not know if the "FORD" system is a true plug and play or not, I am alittle scared to mess with any "wiring" so is a professional instal reccommended??? If it is a simple plug/play, well I think I might be able to handle that?!?!?!

thanks all and stay safe!

congrats on the new truck. Nice choice...now we need to see some pics!

As far as remote starts go, I have the viper alarm/remote start with 2 way LCD remote. Works really well, but the range is not near what I have read it was going to be...maybe b/c alot of the building around here.

Maybe just a remote start system is plug n play, i doubt it though. I know mine had an enormous amount of wiring, and at the time I had it installed, DEI hadnt came out with a keyless bypass wiring diagram for the 07's, so if they still havent, u may have to have one of your truck keys in a module in your dash at all times.

Good luck with the new truck

No, the ford remote start system is not plug and play. It is made by Crimestopper and requires alot of splicing. Go to www.gemsen.com/ford for the instructions.

I got remote start installed for $225. They had to make a copy of the key and hide it somewhere near the ignition. It wasn't worth screwing with for that kind of money...

I installed the remote start/alarm on my new '06 about a month ago. Yes, it's a PITA. But not a $225 PITA. More like a $150 PITA.

How much did the system cost you? Did you have to make a copy of the key? How long did it take? I heard only the dealership could make the copies. Maybe I got fleeced.

I wouldn't say you got fleeced, $225 for an install is pretty good. I paid $150 for my remote start/alarm (Ungo, made by Clarion...but turns out DEI makes their units) and then $60 for the bypass unit. It took me, oh, about 4 evenings to get everything right Biggest problem was just finding the right wires to tap. Some of the harnesses have wires that are all the same color code in them. If I wanted to put one in my wife's '06 EB Expy I bet I could do it in about 3 to 4 hours.

- i think the cost verses the headache was well worth it got remote start on my o7 lariat supercrew when i bought it and they installed when it came in and i think it was $400 at the dealership and yes they did a bypass type setup as i understand. - the range is great i can start my truck from the third floor in my living room and the truck is usually parked 20-30 yards away but i have started it from farther away at malls and shopping centers. i love it and was a great investment especially in cold weather hope this helps

I paid $225 for the system and the install. That makes me feel a little better.. Got mine done through the dealership too. I don't think they did the bypass on mine though, I think a key's hidden in my steering column somewhere. Remote start is awesome, and will really get some use when I move to alaska this summer.

Nice looking truck you have there. I have the Compustar alarm/remote start in my truck and have had zero problems with it. Now that it's getting warmer down on the gulf coast it's great to be able to sit in my office and start up the truck and have the A/C running before I get in it. I paid $450 out the door for everything.

Nice Truck!

I hope that you will be as happy with your new 07 Lariat as I am with mine. If you are looking for a true anti-theft & alarm system I would recommend Ravelco.
