Payload

I need to haul some rock to landscape my house.
What is the most I should put in the box?
Think it can handle a ton? 06 Screw 5.4 5.5bed

Yes, a ton should be fine for short distances.

I just hauled rock for my yard a month ago and had them put in a little over a ton. Started at 3/4 because that was what the spec called for, but 1 ton+ was no big deal. My truck is the supercab, 5.4L, 6.5 bed, but the capacities are very close.

Some things to consider, if you even care, is to have a bed liner.

The truck spec says around 1500 to 1780.
