Center console and dogs

I would like to know if any of you have been able to do anything creative with the center console and no I don't mean put a dog in it. Is anyone using a good organizer for the console? Second question is, do any of you use any type of pet blanket or back seat cover for your dog? Mine sheds a lot (my dog that is) and the covers I have seen don't look like they would fit the whole back seat very well.

I don't have a center console, but do have a 90 lb. dog that likes to ride in the front seat. I used a blanket and held it in place with bungee cords around the headrests in my FX4. The dog hasn't ridden in my Screw yet as he had knee surgery and hasn't recovered enough yet. The blanket thing works well and can be put in place and removed easily to be washed. My wife says she will sit in the back seat when the dog gets well enough to ride. It was her idea to get the dog!

Yeah, I have been using a blanket but the blanket and the dog just slide around in the back on the leather seats. My dog only weighs 30lbs.

Not sure what you are wanting on the center console organizer, I just cut a nice peice of carpet and put on the bottom and keep stuff neatly placed in there.

As for the dogs, I'd just get a decent waterproop seatcover. Or do like I do, My dog rides in the BED of the truck!!!!!!!

Cabelas.com has some dog related seat covers, etc. You might check them out for ideas.

Just got the catalog in the mail today and saw something in there that should do the trick.

I don't make my friends ride in the bed of the truck so I'm sure not going to make my dog.

Goto your local pet store, they should have car/truck/suv seat covers etc...
I bought a waterproof cover for the back of a SUV and attached bungie to it and wraped it around the rear head rest. I have a 95lb German Shepard and it works great.

My dog (a lab) shed a ton too. I use this pet seat cover. Fits reasonably well, is durable and waterproof <-------remember he's a lab. LOL

I tried the blanket for a while too, it was a pain. Now I just break out the shop vac after my dogs been in the truck. It's actually easier than dealing with the blanket.

just my opinion, but all in all, pets & cars dont mix, all that will happen is it will get haired up & scratched up, but yeah a good seat cover should do the trick, like those thick tough ones hunters use

I got this one for the dog at the local petsmart. I just threw it in there to take a picture but if you actually utilize the bungees/clips already built into the cover, you can get a really clean fit. The fabric makes it a cinch to clean too, just shake it and all the hair falls off. Probably not the best thing, but it works for me.

yeah, the dog rides in the bed of the truck. it also doesn't get to come in the house.

just have to make sure there is a rubber matt or something similar to give the dog a little footing while driving.

I just use a blanket, works fine. I've got two Golden Retrievers and don't think they would go for riding in the bed or staying outside. They think they're human.

Anyone have a good lead on a center console organizer that was mentioned earlier in the thread?

I went to a furniture upholstery shop and had them make a cover for the seat. Just the bench part. They made two separate covers for the split and I can still lift the seats individually. It also keeps the dog from sliding around on the leather/pleather. It cost me $9.00 for the fabric and $25.00 in labor.
