One on the side

ok, i know i'm not the only poor boy on here. I LOVE my truck, but dang i need something with better MPG's. I have a 150 mile round trip every third day going to work. not to mention all the various running around i do. I've been thinking real hard about getting something cheap just to drive to work and back. Really wanting keep miles of the brand new Screw. Who has a vehicle they drive on the side to save on the gas? lets see them.

had a 98 Mazda 626, V-6, 5 speed that we just recently sold.. got about 28mpg on weekly round-trips (180 miles) between Austin and Waco. It held up pretty good for 100k miles. If you're looking to buy tho, I'd look for a Honda Civic or Accord, 95 or later. Those damned things just don't quit and a good one should only be about $6-8 k...

and I hear ya on the mileage.. my 05 4.6L S'crew, I may get close to 18 mpg at 70 on the highway, but throw in the stop and go and it's more like 12.. 30 gallon tank at $2.35 per.. alllrighty then!
