New 2007 SuperCrew Flex-Fuel Capability?

My new 2007 F-150 SuperCrew 5.4 is a Flex-Fuel Vehicle, it can burn any combination of gas/ethanol or just E-85 Ethanol straight, my question to you seasoned F-150 owners, is do any of you guys/gals have experience with burning this stuff? How well does the truck perform with this mix, or just straight E-85 Ethanol? Any input is appreciated!

I recently picked up a new '06 Screw with the 5.4 FFV engine and discussed it with the service department. What I learned is that you can run straight gas, straight E85 or any combination of the two with no problems. The Ford FFV engine makes slightly more power on straight E85 than straight gasoline (about 5%) but the mileage also suffers a little bit as well since E85 is not as effiicent in making power (about 5%-10% lower MPGs). I haven't had a chance to fuel up with E85 since it's not real popular just yet but plan to use it as it becomes more available.

It will have lower gas mileage when you run E-85 because it is not as efficient in engines that were originally designed for gasoline and also because it has a lower energy content per gallon than gas. It does have a higher octane rating and is supposed to make slightly more power as stated above.

More power from E85, that is a good thing!

I was on a road trip and happened upon a station that had E85 (none in my area) filled it up and I did notice a little boost in performance, I would equate it with adding an air intake/exhaust. There was less mileage but I was able to get it for about 40 cents cheaper than gas. I can't wait to get it in my area.
