Whinning from left front wheel

2002 F150 XLT stock 75k miles. Just put new brakes, rotors and calipers a couple of months ago. Front left wheel started to whine. Sound starts about 10mph and sound increases speed as car increases speed. Almost sounds like the truck is in 4x4 high. Is this a bearing or should I be looking for a deferential problem?

Sounds like a wheel bearing to me. Just replaced the same one on my truck about two weeks ago.

Jiggle, thatns for the quick reply. Is this something I can do myself? I am pretty handy, work on antiuqe motorcycles. Do I need a special puller or any other special tools?

Just found out that the problem is a wheel bearing. Went to autozome and the part is around $300.00 each side. Anyone know where I can get the parts cheaper. I live in Mass.

Well the good news is that it is a wheel bearing and I have extended service contract so this is covered under warenty. The extended coverage goes to 75K and I have 70.9K. Got lucky on this one.

Yes you did. I just had the right front bearing/hub replaced this week - $370 for the part and $100 labor - ouch! Only 43k miles, but it's the first expense I've had for this truck besides regular maintenance.
