Talking Just spent a bundle on the screw

Hi,

This is one my first posts here! I just ordered some goodies for the F150 and I was excited so I thought I'd post it up here. Had to get it from four different places to get the best pricing.

Westin bull bar chrome w/skid plate
KC daylighter driving lights chrome
Edge Evolution programmer
Carriage Works billet alu grill
Volant cold air intake
$1204.

I do have a question about the switch for the lights. What should I do to keep a stock look for the KC light switch in the cab? any recommendations?

thank you,

MG

As soon as they arrive and get installed I'll take some pics and post them. I just ordered it an hour ago.

I have the switch for my KC's basically under the dash on the right side of the steering wheel. I cant be to specific since im out of town and cant get a good look but i believe that there is a outlet or pluggin for the computer on the truck and my switch is placed just to the left of it and you can barely see it... it a pain to switch on and off but it cant be seen without looking down there.

Sounds like you have a whole mess of stuff to put on and better get that credit card paid off too!

I have the bull bar with some IPAA lights on it. If your lights don't come with a wiring package then buy one from the same manufaturer. Most likely will need a relay. I just placed my button on top of the column and plugged in my wiring into the high beam wire. So when I turn them on, they only come on when I have my high beams on, and I don't have to turn them on and off manually.

This may or may not be street legal so if your concerned about that you'd better ask the local LE. My lights are labeled as driving lights, so hopefully won't have problems with LE here, but I only really use them on the county roads, not the Interstates or state highways.

I look forward to seeing pics when you get it all on. Yo reminded me that I need to get a pic of my truck up on here...

thanks

thanks for the pics and ideas. I'm leaning towards hooking them up with the brights so I don't need the switch. The kit I purchased comes with a relay.

Update. I've installed the Edge Evolution Programmer and the Volant Cold Air Intake. I'm impressed by the Edge product. The 19 different data points that you can monitor are great for towing. The throttle response changes are significant. I can't say that it feels like its making more power (on tow mode 87oct). No way to tell without a dyno anyway.

The Volant product is impressively large when you open the box. I guess I'm accustomed to products for cars. Wow the box is big! The installation instructions are terrible. Rife with errors and poor language (read: SUCK). The box does not fit the way a $350 hunk of plastic should. It's too close to the brake fluid reservior and doesn't fit the quarter panels stock air intake hole. The materials are of good quality however. I just expect something that is so expensive compared to other similar products to be a near perfect fit. Also, the supposed "ram air scoop" should be included with the kit at the same price, not a $100 option (i didn't get it). In the end though dumb asses like me fork over the cash so the manufacturers figure why not mark it up and enjoy the economics.

I could not tell a performance difference from the Volant intake. May be due to the prior installation of the Edge programmer. I did notice that intake temperatures were essentially the SAME as the stock set-up according to readings from the Edge. The new intake undoubtedly lets in more air, but my truck probably isn't tuned to take advantage of it (no, I will not go with Mr. T). I'd need a set of headers, performance catback and exhaust to go with it too. :-)

Welcome to the site and congrats on the new truck! I mounted my KC light switch on the dash panel that goes under the gauges. Mine popped out by
pulling slightly. Not sure if your's would do the same.
