Thanks for the tips. At this point we are going back for the difference in value from before the accident to now. The truck is still not done. As of yesterday all the painting and trim work is done, but they still have not set the bed assembly on the frame yet because they are missing some "J hooks" and a few bolts. The bumper is missing some brackets so it is not on yet and there is a brace for the new front seat not in yet. They were trying to get all the parts yesterday, but were not sure they could. I doubt it will be ready this week. I am glad I have alternate means of transportation.

you can make them pay to rent a car. tell them you have a truck and you want them to pay to rent a truck. or they will pay you not to rent a car but you have to ask

Well, I picked it up last week. They did a good job on the Paint matching I have to say. I had my buddy (superduty mechanic for Ford) come with me and he looked underneath before I took it to check for the obvious stuff. Besides some places where the new frame had the undercoating scratched off it all looked correct. It drives like I remember, i.e. they did not remove my programming. I do not hear any wind noise at highway speeds either. I plan to tow in Mid-March, so I'll know more then. I'm planning to keep the truck now, but not as a daily driver; more for hauling stuff and towing my Jeep. The bonus Line-x liner is nice and in great condition. I'm going to see my bro-in-law and put it up on his lift to perform a more thorough inspection. He is also a Ford truck mechanic and works primarily on Super Duties, but he does side work on light duties. The only problem I have noticed so far is in the driver's seat. The seat heater does not work and the leather is torn at the bottom. The seat recline mechanism shifted the other day on the way to work, so I'm dropping it off for them to replace the leather, fix the heater and see what is causing the seat to be scewed. Here are shots from the day I picked it up.

Oh, I forgot to mention the grand total for the repairs is $14,941.00!

Add in 1,000.00 for car rental and they are at 16k. When all this started I was told 17k would total my truck. I guess all this was worth a grand to the ins. company.

Your Truck looks good, they did a nice job. Looks like it sits a tad high in the back though... I'll bet when the bills are in for fixing your seat and the torn upholstery they will be over 17K in it after all. Time to have a beer!

Thanks, I'm fairly happy. This truck has always been higher in the back. Unless, or course, I'm towing my Jeep  I always figured it was from the stronger rear springs it has on it. It came from the factory with heavier rear springs. I'm waiting to hear the excuses about the leather and why they cannot fix it. I'm sure they do not want to go over 17k!

Well.... 2 years later and the truck is still going strong. Still towing the Jeep and hauling stuff with ease. I have to say I am surprised I have not had any issues and have been hesitant to post for fear an issue would arise. Looks like they did a good job 'rebuilding' the truck.

They did not replace it. I too was surprised they fixed it; in their defense the did originally estimate it would take less than 12K to fix. In my opinion they are not good estimators since it ended up at almost 16k. Still 2 years later with no major issues, they did something right.

I almost wish it was not working so well... I would have an excuse for an 09 screw! Those look sweet.
