I hand washed my truck after 1 week of having it. Went 4 wheeling about 1 week ago and it was to cold out to hand wash it. I will take my truck to a car wash any time as long as it is brushless. Screw washing you truck by hand when it gets cold out.

I use the car wash. Almost impossible to find a place to bucket wash in San Diego when you live on a ship.

Can any of you San Diego guys reccomend a good brushless car wash? Please email of pm me.

I did the hand wash in the driveway the first 7 months I had the truck, then when it got cold, I started going to the selfservice wash. I detail it there after washing. No brush has ever touched it. I usually wash each week.

For vehicles I buy, I hand wash or touchless automatic. For vehicles I rent, err lease, I don't care what the paint looks like. Those vehicles are lucky to get a wash once a month. I bought my F-150.

ok,
so far wand sprayed it once to basicly just get some salt off it,

took it to touchless spray booth today, it didnt take anything off that was actually stuck IE bugs , tar .

purchased nov 10th

guess im gonna need to go have it hand washed and waxed somewhere,
still cant get the guts to take it through a carwash.

and the chrome wheels they need special care i see as they came out of the wash filthy and seemed the brakedust turned thick and hard on the wheels.

long story short she needs help lol poor truck

The day I picked mine up it was snowing. Three days later drove it to the local car wash and went in the do it your self stall and all I use is the rinse setting just to get salt and snow off. If I don't do it by hand myself I only use the rinse setting and do it my self at the local car wash.

I try as hard as I can to never let anyone else touch my truck. I have taken it through a car wash before, but it was a really high end one, and they actually did a great job, to my surprise.

Most of the time, though, I wash it myself. I am very meticulous and it has to be done just right. I guess my method works fine because my paint is flawless.

Wow, some of you guys are sure touchy bout your rigs. I can't remember when I first washed mine, but it doens't get washed too often. I usually let the rain get the mud off. The few times I've actually washed my '06 was in an automatic car wash though.

Handwashed and Zaino'ed when weather allows. Touchless washes when too cold and winter salt needs to be removed.

I really like the touchless automatics. I've always had problems with swirls, plus I hate to see terry cloth lint on my vehicles. The touchless car washes seem to work well from my experience. I will never use an automatic car wash that use brushes, no way, never...

Luckly, I have been able to handwash my truck the first two times. I am in KY for the holidays and I am able to do it in my parents driveway. When we go back to Tennessee, we live in a condo so I will have to find a place to do it.

I am kind of hesitant about coming through the touchless car wash but, I have done it plenty of times in my wifes 03 Explorer with no problems.

To many hard choices when owning a F-150.

I used to work at a car was with one of those big fancy cloth machines. So I go there whenever I'm feeling lazy or in a hurry and for $5 I do whatever I want to it.
I've taken all my vehicles there many many times and have never had a problem with scratches or anything else.
