Ive been looking into a 97+ f-150 and was just curious on the seats in them, ive yet to drive one and i wanted to know what everyones back is like after a long trip in one. The chevys i find are really comfy *99+* and im hoping the ford is almost the same, could i get some input ?
thanks

Well if it helps I've driven my truck as much as 30 hours without stopping except for gas and food... and my back was just fine... my mind on the other hand... Oh and I'm 6' 8" so finding a seat that is comfy isnt super easy...
my 1999 F250 has the 40/20/40 with the fold down console, if thats what your talking about, yeah its quite comfy cloth, way better than my Explorer Sports cloth, but the captains chairs in my 2001 Supercrew,,, they are leather which is very comfortable but those little seat mounted fold down arm rest... i hate them, my shoulder doesn't get along with them
The captain's chair seats in my '97 SCab are as comfortable as any seat I've ever used. The newer seat design is more like a sports car and really cradles you in comfort. If I did have one complaint, it feels like the 2004+ captain's chairs have a brace right under your butt. It's not really noticeable if you're sitting the the chair dead center, but on long trips, I shift around a bit and I find the "hump" rather uncomfortable.
