Possibly the shortest F-150 ownership ever
Recently a co-work purchased a Dodge RAM 1500. I was in the market for a truck. I didn't consider Dodge because I was already ticked off because how they didn't maintain my R/T Stratus.
I saw an '03 Ford F-150 SuperCrew. I was a little edgy because I had already had a '93 Mustang that I lost when some dame decided she'd rather talk on her phone and make wide turns rather not cutting me off while there is black ice. Once received the insurance check from that wreck, I went and got a '94 Mustang. Two months later, it was in the shop! The rear shook as though it was going into epileptic fits and the head gasket was a bust. Luckily there was a recall. Needless to say, I got the car back and traded it in for a Camaro, which I had for a nice stretch.
Now I'm giving Ford another try. Within one day of having the F-150, the check engine light came on, would flash, and the truck would somewhat shake and shudder while under load and idling. I pop in a OBD scanner, 3rd Cyl misfire. I check these forms just to find a 3rd cyl NIGHTMARE!
I'm going to the dealer today to pick up the truck. . .we shall see what the outcome is.
STAY TUNED. . .

No Worries
Okay. . .they replaced the spark plug and the coil pack. Check engline light is off and the trucks seems to have stopped its intermittent shudder.
Funny. . .I'm sure if I took the truck in for service and the repairs would have been on my dime, they would have replaced every freaking spark plug from here to timbucktwo.
Thanks Baker's JEEP CHRYSLER AND DODGE! Just one more reason to be glad I finally got rid of my ties to DR. Z.! Well. . .almost. . .I still have my MB S430

Good to hear its fixed. No used car is perfect I guess, my '01 Supercrews whole underbody is rusted up badly, but my '00 F250s underbody looks brand new after the dealer undercoated it. But with my rust problems i'm going to be getting another Supercrew and selling this one. Never the less Fords a damn tough long lasting truck.

Ahh. . .I was wrong. The check engine light came back on. I took it to the dealer (3,000 miles / 3 months). Cyl #4 is misfiring. They replaced plug and coil for #4. I've asked several times for them to replace the entire set of plugs. They say that's ridiculous. That's not required to fix the problem.
It's funny, any time I've had to replace a plug because of misfiring (and it was at my own expense) everybody said "YOU HAVE TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE SET!" Now that it's on the dealer's dime, it's not required. Hmmmmm. . .BOY DO THEY FIND A WAY TO BEND YOU OVER EVERY TIME! GOBBLE GOBBLE!
Thanks a lot Baker Chrysler Jeep Dodge. . .I wish I would have known that you guys would dodge doing the right thing. What scares me the most is that their "certified technicians" say that they've never heard of any vehicle requiring a full plug/coil replacement because a cyl misfires. I guess these guys didn't go to WYOTECH.

Weird, I had the exact same scenario with mine. I bought an 01 screw about 3 weeks ago and it has a 3 month 2500 mile warranty, been in the shop 3 times for missfire they finally replaced the faulty coil and it purrs like a kitten now. Each time the missfire was caused by moisture.
I wouldn't expect them to replace all the plugs or coils, as they aren't causing the missfire, it was ONE faulty coil, and in your case 2 coils. I agree that if I had gone in there on my own dime, they'd be wanting me to go with all new plugs and possibly all new coils, but the problem is solved and I am happy. When I start having problems again, I'll order all new coils on the net (about $13 each) and change out the plugs/coils myself.
