It's a truck... Some of you guys act like these are those volkswagon trucks from the 80's..

When I built my shed I had 25 bags of 50 lb concrete, forms, 25 2x6x10's and 8 sheets of 3/4 inch P/T plywood.. Needless to say I was loaded to the hilt!

Do the math and I was probably around 1700 pounds in the bed.. Probably a little overloaded, but it did fine. If I did it again, I would probably stop with the cement at 1250 lbs..

Remember if you have 4-5 passengers, chances are you're closing in on 750-800 lbs alone.. Cargo is no different, weight is weight.

One suggestion though, keep the heaviest weight near the front of the bed and over the axles as possible..

I just hauled 1 ton of Pellets (for a pellet stove) in my '02 screw 4x4. I drove apprx 30 miles on the interstate going 60mph. I had very little sag in the back, and the reason I only drove 60mph was the fast that I felt I could drive, and still stop. I had the load centered over the axle.

Just like others have said it is a truck. Do what you feel is safe.

I just completed a major landscaping project that included gravel as well as crushed granite. for my f150 supercrew 4x4, the quarry told me to just place a half yard at a time

Well I guess I am the crazy one then. I have had 2.5 tons of CA6 in the back of my truck. Sagged a littl ebit but wasnt a problem. Then again I have also towed a little over 10,000lbs. (CAT skid steer and trailer) I have had no problems at all. Its a truck.....thats the way I look at it. If it breaks I fix it with better parts. That gives me an excuse to get it past the wife!
